KRISTIAN FOSHOLT | ASSOCIATE
Kristian has been inspired by the built and natural environment since childhood. Originally from Colorado, he grew up with an insatiable wanderlust and a love for building with anything he could get his hands on. While working on his Bachelor of Architecture at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Kristian was fortunate enough to spend his 4th year studying abroad in Italy, which had a lasting impact on how he works and lives. After Cal Poly, Kristian switched coasts to work with Studio Daniel Libeskind in New York. Returning to the west coast for a Master's program in civil engineering at Stanford University focused on interdisciplinary sustainable design/construction integration, Kristian created and taught a course for specialized 3D digital workflows, attended interdisciplinary courses, and connected with the bay area industry. At Perkins+Will Kristian worked on large, fast-track commercial projects. Incentivized contracts and alternative delivery methods provided him the opportunity to guide projects from concept through to occupancy while working on-site. Originally licensed in Colorado, Kristian joined jmA in 2017. Now living in the Mission District in San Francisco, Kristian spends his free time rock climbing, playing soccer, drinking iced coffee, wandering the city on foot, building large structures in the desert, or planning his next expedition.
