LORYN LEWIS
LORYN LEWIS | PROJECT MANAGER
Loryn grew up with the Rocky Mountains as her backdrop in the foothills of Colorado. She attended the University of Colorado, Boulder and received a bachelor's degree in Environmental Design as well as the opportunity to study Architecture for a semester at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. She remains inspired by European culture, history, and design.
After graduating, she and her partner moved into a tent in upstate New York to design and build an off-the-grid cabin. Their passion project took a few summers to complete as well as multiple cross-country truckloads of recycled materials that were re-purposed in the house.
Loryn discovered an interest for digital fabrication while studying at CU, which lead her to start her professional career in metal fabrication at Living Design Studios in Boulder, CO. Incorporating the knowledge gained, she was able to design and weld the two steel staircases used in the cabin in upstate New York.
Since moving to San Francisco and starting at MAK Studio in 2015, Loryn rediscovered her affection for residential architecture and continued to develop her career by joining jmA in 2018. Loryn likes to spend her free time at the beach with her dog, Le Corbusier, attending film series at SFMOMA, and pursuing hygge experiences..
