MATT WILLIAMS | PRINCIPAL
Matt grew up in Chicago and Miami and froze his tail off getting his B.Arch at Cornell University, where he spent several years bugging then upperclassman John Maniscalco to play crazy guitar riffs. Matt has over 25 years experience in both architecture and construction.
After graduating, he spent seven years in Seattle as a Project Manager for a construction company focused on healthcare and school renovations. He later took a position as a Construction Manager / Designer for a local private hospital while designing his parents retirement lodge in Montana. He has also worked in NYC for SOM where he was part of a design team that won a PA Citation. Matt moved to the Bay Area in 1999 and became jmA's first employee in 2003. Matt's attention to detail and construction knowledge help transform jmA's design ideas into reality.
Matt lives in Marin with his wife and 3 kids and spends most of his time chasing around his younger twins and their new puppy, as well as being soccer coach to two teams (boy and girl twins). His wife is a professional photographer and painter and she has an awesome set of cameras that Matt is not allowed to touch. Matt loves hiking and camping and his kids would say they do not.
